We are seeking an experienced Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys in a fast-paced plaintiff-side practice. This role focuses primarily on motor vehicle accident litigation (approximately 75%), with additional exposure to medical malpractice (15%), premises liability including slip-and-fall cases (5%), and other personal injury matters (5%). The ideal candidate must have hands-on litigation experience and be comfortable managing cases from filing through trial preparation. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to independently manage deadlines, discovery, and case documentation in a high-volume environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Litigation Case Management
- Manage personal injury litigation files from complaint through resolution or trial
- Track and maintain litigation deadlines, court filings, and procedural requirements
- Prepare pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and legal correspondence
- Coordinate service of process, filings, and document management
Discovery & Medical Documentation
- Draft and respond to interrogatories, requests for production, and other discovery
- Organize and summarize medical records, bills, and supporting documentation
- Coordinate medical authorizations, record requests, and expert documentation
- Prepare case summaries and chronologies to assist attorneys in strategy development
Trial Preparation & Case Support
- Assist with deposition scheduling, preparation, and summaries
- Prepare trial exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders
- Coordinate with experts, investigators, and medical providers
- Support attorneys during mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation
Client & Vendor Coordination
- Communicate with clients regarding case updates and document requests
- Coordinate with insurance carriers, opposing counsel, medical providers, and courts
- Maintain accurate case notes and ensure files are litigation-ready at all times
Case Mix
- ~75% Motor Vehicle Accident Litigation
- ~15% Medical Malpractice Litigation
- ~5% Slip-and-Fall / Premises Liability
- ~5% Other Personal Injury Matters
Required Qualifications
- Must have prior personal injury litigation experience (plaintiff-side strongly preferred)
- Demonstrated experience supporting cases through the litigation phase
- Strong understanding of court procedures, filing requirements, and discovery processes
- Experience organizing medical records and damages documentation
- Excellent time management and ability to handle multiple active litigation files
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High level of attention to detail and deadline management
