Position Summary
The Facilities Maintenance Technician works under limited supervision to oversee the maintenance-related needs of the building and grounds based on established business strategies to ensure continual improvement, customer satisfaction, and adherence to company policy. Using their technical skills, the Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing proactive, hands-on maintenance and responsive service for repairs and projects within operation standards and maintaining priorities and company goals as they relate to these areas.
Essential Functions

- Oversee systems that include heating, lighting, refrigeration, air conditioning, plumbing, water purification, air filtration, and electrical systems as required
- Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs of equipment and infrastructure, provide and add corrections to standard operating procedures, troubleshoot as needed, and assist engineers in evaluating new equipment or technology
- Maintain wastewater treatment systems for controlling the flow and processing of wastewater, recycling it into potable water in restroom facilities throughout the building
- Responsible for understanding all building, environmental, and industrial equipment regulatory codes and administration; completing all customer work orders within specified deadlines
- Become familiar with all building systems within the campus to develop and execute regular maintenance plans for all physical structures, equipment, and systems. These range from building infrastructure to highly sophisticated mechanical systems.
- Complete daily progress reports on assigned work orders, documenting completed assignments while updating the status of work in process projects and occasionally responding to on-call maintenance requests outside of regular working hours
- Responsible for understanding facility blueprints, mechanical and electrical drawings, or rough sketches to complete assignments for installations, troubleshooting and repairing existing company-wide electrical systems and equipment safely with 480VAC, 277VAC, 120VAC, ensuring maintenance is completed in a safe and timely manner
- Works with the Manager to effectively train employees through communication and development

Education and Experience
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education and experience is required; Associates Degree in a related field preferred
- State of Oregon Electricians license, required; Journeyman Electrical license, preferred
- Minimum 5 years of electrical maintenance experience required
- Ability to evaluate and troubleshoot electrical systems, controls, and components, making corrections as required
- Good knowledge of building and equipment maintenance, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, wastewater treatment, and pneumatic equipment operation and maintenance
- Strong knowledge and consistent application of electrical codes and regulations
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to communicate with all levels of personnel, including technical documentation skills
- Strong mechanical skills including knowledge of and ability to use machines, hand, amp meters, DMM, and power tools
- Prioritize workload to consistently meet deadlines and production requirements
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work in a warehouse, manufacturing, cleanroom, and/or office environment that are subject to moderate to high levels of noise, specialized apparel and safety equipment, and moving mechanical parts. At times, this position will work in confined spaces and at heights. This position will have exposure to and use of materials listed in the company’s Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
Travel - Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected

Repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers are required.
