Equipment Technician II - Graveyard Shift

Location: Epson Portland Inc – Hillsboro, OR
Shift: Graveyard (11:00PM – 7:30AM)
Days: Monday – Friday
Shift differential of 15% of the base hourly wage is included for graveyard shift

Position Summary

The Equipment Technician II works under general supervision to maintain and ensure electro-mechanical equipment operates in accordance with quality, operations, and time standards. Using their technical knowledge, the Equipment Technician will perform set-up, trouble-shooting, and preventative maintenance where sequences, methods, and instructions are well-defined and routine in nature.

Essential Functions

• Inspect and analyze defective parts to determine necessary machine adjustments, troubleshoot and maintain robots and related pneumatic automated production equipment, perform preventive maintenance checks as required, and support team projects and process improvement activities as directed
• Respond to some urgent maintenance projects/requests in support of manufacturing including performing preventative and corrective maintenance checks, assigned repairs, recording spare part usage,
• Responsible for troubleshooting various systems, sensors, and maintaining a log of issues/resolutions, communicating machine issues for later follow-up

• Maintain professional and technical knowledge of industry best practices by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, visiting other manufacturing facilities, and participating in professional societies

Education and Experience

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent applicable education and work experience is required; an Associate’s degree in electromechanics is preferred
• Minimum 2-4 years of automated mechanical work experience or equivalent required
• Experience in pneumatics and electrical machinery preferred.
• Actively participate in a team-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to communicate with all levels of personnel
• Solve problems using critical thinking and sound judgment
• Intermediate PC skills are required, including experience with the Microsoft Office Suite and email
• Experience using test and diagnostic equipment to perform maintenance required

While performing the duties of this job, the employee conducts primarily medium work with frequent periods of standing, walking, reaching, crawling, climbing, pushing, and pulling. This position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers are required.
