Overview:
Seeking Lead Mechanical Design Engineer, with a strong Mechanical Design background, to develop system concepts and turnkey designs for industrial chemical handling and processing systems.
Location/Work-Type:
Norfolk, MA/ Hybrid
Dedicated Office space with remote capabilities, occasional travel within Continental U.S.
Job Description:
Company with 40yrs extensive experiences in industrial projects, specializing in handling acid/caustic chemicals, corrosive materials, hazardous fume capture, treatment systems, and various chemical production or wet part-processing systems.
Seeking an individual to join our core-engineering team to help with consulting, engineering, system designs, and other field installation requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
o Development of engineering packages
o Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), incl. mass balance
o Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
o General Arrangement (GA) and Equipment layouts
o Detailed Fabrication and Construction Drawings
o System design documents and Operator Manuals (OMs)
- Equipment, Material, Documentation
o Maintain material specifications and Materials of Construction (MOC) documentation
o Develop and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) for estimating and project costing (ROMs)
o Keep accurate records and ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations
o Project Coordination and Support:
o Manage project tasks independently
o Communicate effectively with engineering teams, clients, and vendors
o Provide creative problem-solving and engineering insight when addressing design challenges

Skill/Requirements:
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering/Chemical Engineering
5yrs minimum Mechanical Design experience
Advanced CAD proficiency (AutoCAD 2D/3D)
Good understanding of fluid systems, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and materials selection.
Ability to interpret and review programming logic diagrams and electrical/wiring diagrams
Strong organizational skills, including documentation, archiving, and data library management
Good written and verbal communication skills
Additional:
A number of our clients have requirements for both data and site access this is many times related to the project having something to do with the DoD. This is typically based around the requirement of US Citizenship as well as some other occasional vetting.
Pay: $103, $140,514.89 per year
