Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Warehouse Distribution Specialist to join our team. This role involves managing various aspects of warehouse operations, including order picking, materials handling, and operating heavy equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience with warehouse management systems, OSHA safety standards, and heavy equipment operation such as forklifts and cranes. Duties
- Perform order picking using RF scanners and warehouse management systems to ensure accurate fulfillment of customer orders.
- Load and unload shipments, utilizing equipment such as pallet jacks, clamp trucks, and forklifts.
- Operate heavy machinery including cranes and forklift trucks safely in compliance with OSHA standards.
- Manage shipping and receiving processes, ensuring proper documentation and inventory control.
- Assist with materials handling tasks such as load & unload operations, heavy lifting, and moving materials within the warehouse.
- Maintain safety protocols during all operations, adhering to OSHA guidelines and best practices for heavy equipment operation.
- Support warehouse supervision by maintaining organized work areas and reporting any safety concerns or equipment issues promptly.
- Contribute to warehouse efficiency by participating in continuous improvement initiatives related to order picking, inventory management, and workflow optimization.
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, or related roles.
- Familiarity with order picker equipment, RF scanners, pallet jacks, clamp trucks, and forklift operation.
- Mechanical knowledge beneficial for troubleshooting equipment issues.
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as cranes and construction-related machinery.
- Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards applicable to warehouse environments.
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory control and order processing.
- Previous warehouse supervisor or leadership experience is a plus.
- Construction or materials handling background preferred for versatile operational support. This role is vital for maintaining efficient warehouse operations while ensuring safety and accuracy in all tasks performed. Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
