Senior VAVE / Cost Reduction Engineer

What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Finance, Quality, and suppliers to identify and execute projects that improve product cost, manufacturability, and supply chain resilience.
Projects may include:
- Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VAVE)
- Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
- Design for Assembly (DFA)
- Design to Cost (DTC)
- Make vs. Buy evaluations
- Second-source qualification
- Supplier improvement initiatives
- Product redesign and cost reduction
- Manufacturing process improvements
- Capital equipment implementation
- Engineering change management
- Verification and validation activities
You’ll own projects from concept through implementation, measuring real business impact while ensuring changes meet quality and regulatory requirements.
We’re Looking For Someone Who Has
- 6 years of engineering experience in medical device, plastics, or another highly regulated manufacturing environment
- Experience leading cost reduction or VAVE initiatives with measurable business results
- Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)
- Experience with design verification, process validation, and engineering change control
- Working knowledge of DFMEA, PFMEA, and risk management
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings, CAD models, and Bills of Materials
- Excellent project management and cross-functional leadership skills
Experience with injection molding, plastic components, supplier development, or capital equipment is highly valued.
