Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organized General/Propane Manager/Dispatcher to oversee daily operations and manage our fleet of vehicles. This role involves dispatching drivers, coordinating logistics, and eventually running a propane business as a General Manager. The ideal candidate will be customer service oriented, proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple responsibilities to ensure smooth operations and growth of the business.
Responsibilities
- Dispatch drivers efficiently to meet delivery schedules and customer needs.
- Coordinate daily fleet operations, including vehicle maintenance, routing, and compliance with safety regulations.
- Monitor vehicle performance and address any operational issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, vehicle logs, and operational data.
- Assist in planning and implementing strategies for company expansion and optimization.
- Support the transition into managing a propane business by understanding industry standards and safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with customers, team members, clients, and vendors to ensure seamless operations.
- Oversee inventory management related to fleet supplies and propane products as needed.
- Ensure adherence to all safety policies and regulatory requirements within the fleet and propane operations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in dispatching, fleet management, or related logistics roles preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with drivers, clients, and team members.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and operational needs.
- Leadership qualities suitable for progressing into a General Manager role overseeing propane business operations.
- Knowledge of safety standards related to transportation and propane handling is advantageous.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record preferred with Class B Hazmat or willing to optain
- Willingness to learn about propane industry regulations and safety practices as part of career development.
