We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead facility design requirements, compliance oversight, and mechanical systems engineering for multiple Department of government industrial facility projects.

Type: Long term contract
Location: Auburn Hills, MI
Must be able to obtain Secret Clearance

Responsibilities
- Represent the organization in client meetings, technical reviews, and program discussions
- Lead development and management of facility design requirements
- Ensure compliance with UFC standards and applicable federal, state, and local regulations
- Prepare engineering reports, assessments, presentations, and technical documentation
- Coordinate with government clients, contractors, design teams, and internal stakeholders
- Apply project management principles to support facility design and construction efforts
- Review and validate mechanical system designs and engineering calculations
MUST HAVE Qualifications (Required)
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) License
- Minimum 7 years of experience as a Design Engineer, Facilities Engineer, or Mechanical Engineer supporting facility design projects
- Experience working at a Government-Owned OR Contractor-Operated (GOCO) facility OR U.S. Government facility OR U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) OR Architectural-Engineering (A/E) firm OR similar federal environment
- Hands-on experience applying Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) requirements
- Experience developing, defining, and managing design requirements for new facilities
- Experience supporting government, industrial, manufacturing, or defense facility projects from concept through design
- Mechanical systems design experience including HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Piping, Controls, and Automation systems
- Strong communication and presentation skills
