Minimum Qualifications:
- Possess, as minimum a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have at least one year of previous cooking experience in a restaurant or equivalent environment.
- Must have strong knife skills, including the ability to minimize the waste of fruits and vegetables during preparation.
- Able to read, write and communicate effectively the English language in an understandable manner and follow written/oral instructions.
- Minimum of eighteen (18) years of age.
- Must be Serve Safe certified or willing to obtain certification upon being hired.
As a Specialty Cook you can expect to:
- Specialty Cook can expect to be responsible for preparing and cooking specialty food orders.
- Specialty Cook is responsible for coordinating the service of specialty items with other kitchen staff to ensure simultaneous delivery of specialty orders and menu orders to each table.
- Specialty Cook can expect to prepare salads, fresh fruit and vegetables for dinner service.
- Specialty Cook bakes fresh cookies and pastries for service in the dining room and the Internet Café
- Specialty Cook maintains a secondary supply of fresh entrees, vegetables and sides to ensure uninterrupted service to guests
- Specialty Cook assures that safety regulations are followed and reports any accidents, hazardous equipment or conditions immediately.
- Specialty Cook fills in as needed in cook’s absence if trained.
- Specialty Cook provides outstanding customer service to all customers in accordance with ERS’s expectations and values.
