Join Our Team as a CNC Machine Operator at Epiroc!
Operates special-purpose equipment, conventional (lathe/mill), and/or numerical control (NC) machines for fabricating metallic and nonmetallic parts that meet the high-quality machine standards required within the organization.
Essential Functions:
- Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to find dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations, and setup requirements
- Operate CNC mill, CNC lathe, manual mill, and drill press
- Set up machinery and ensure all production materials are available
- Operate Forklift
- Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine control as required
- Must be able to select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers
- Must demonstrate a basic to intermediate skill level (indicate part, turn OD's, and qualify ID and OD)
- Ability to use inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, CMM, etc
- Document quality inspections as directed by SOP
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment and assigned area
- Assist SHEQ in promoting and monitoring Safety First initiatives and goals as stated in the MR Operational Policy throughout the organization
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds, bend, stretch, and stand for extended periods
- Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned
Knowledge/Educational Requirements:
- A High School Diploma or GED is required
- An Associate of Artsor equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in the machinist trade is a plus
- Basic computer skills
Experience Requirements:
- 2-4years of experience working with CNC machines
Competency Requirements:
- Ability to operate equipment in a safe and controlled manner
- Ability to follow instructions, both written and oral
- Must be able to work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to work with minimal guidance
- Ability to work well with others and as part of a team
