Position Summary
The TCM Data Analyst collects, analyzes, interprets, and reports data related to TCM operations, ensuring compliance with NC Medicaid and Tailored Plan requirements. The analyst plays a vital role in improving care coordination, operational efficiency, billing accuracy, and overall service delivery outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Management & Reporting
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports (productivity, compliance, quality measures).
- Extract, clean, validate, and analyze EHR data.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of TCM encounters per state guidelines.
- Produce monthly, weekly, and quarterly operational reports.
- TCM Compliance Monitoring
- Track timelines related to the 6 TCM Core Functions (assessment, planning, monitoring, etc.).
- Generate alerts for overdue tasks, expired assessments, or missing documentation.
- Support internal audits, mock reviews, and continuous quality improvement.
- Performance Improvement & Quality Initiatives
- Conduct trend analyses for hospital readmissions, ER utilization, SDOH, critical incidents, no-show patterns, and more.
- Identify service gaps and opportunities to strengthen outcomes.
- Assist leadership with Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) and corrective actions.
- Billing & Financial Analytics
- Analyze claims and encounter data to support billing accuracy.
- Track reimbursement patterns and generate monthly revenue reports.
- Support financial forecasting and caseload capacity modeling.
- Cross-Department Collaboration
- Partner with Care Managers, Supervisors, Quality teams, Clinical Leadership, Billing, Finance, and IT/EHR teams.
- Participate in staff meetings, audits, and special projects.
- Provide ad hoc reporting and analytical support as needed.
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Public Health, Health Informatics, Statistics, Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
- 2 years of healthcare data analytics experience (behavioral health preferred).
- Knowledge of NC Tailored Care Management standards & Medicaid documentation requirements.
- Proficiency in:
- Excel (advanced preferred)
- Power BI or Tableau
- SQL & query tools
- EHR reporting/analytics
- Strong understanding of HIPAA, PHI security, and data governance.
- Experience with NC LME/MCOs or Tailored Plans (Partners, Vaya, Trillium, Sandhills, etc.).
- Knowledge of CPT/HCPCS codes, especially for TCM.
- Experience analyzing outcomes for SMI, SUD, I/DD, and complex youth populations.
- Familiarity with quality frameworks (HEDIS, NCQA, CMS).
- Master’s degree in Analytics, Public Health, or Health Administration.
