WHAT TO EXPECT
- Diagnose, inspect, and repair medium-duty (Class 3-6) straight trucks and box trucks, including brakes, electrical, hydraulic, A/C, engine, exhaust, and after-treatment systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance and DOT inspections on-site at the yard; service and replace parts like tires, hubs, brakes, and lift-gates.
- Write work orders and open/close repair orders on a company device for all in-yard work.
- Inspect straight trucks to meet the U.S. Department of Transportation's road safety requirements.
- Manage shop/service inventory and source parts from local vendors.
- Complete inspection reports and DOT documentation accurately and on time.
- Deliver strong customer service and report findings to management.
- 3 years of experience repairing medium-duty trucks (Isuzu, Hino, or similar).
- Experienced in performing annual federal inspections and brake inspections.
- Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record & no suspensions.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working with computers for billing and work orders.
- Follows verbal and written work orders to stay on track with daily repairs.
- Confident explaining a diagnosis and helping determine next steps on repairs.
- Self-motivated with excellent organization and planning skills.
- Experience with medium-duty diesel or gas engines.
- Your own tools.
- Certifications are a plus | EPA 608/609/Universal & ASE.
