What are the responsibilities and job description for the Culinary Purchasing Agent position at Epic?
Please note that this position is based on our campus in Madison, WI, and requires relocation to the area. We recruit nationally and provide financial relocation assistance.
Play a key role in the procurement of equipment and food for our culinary department including industrial appliances to spatulas, whisks, and other small wares as well as food and consumables. More than 7,000 hungry staff members, customers, and guests dine at Epic each day. We regularly update, and expand our culinary facilities to support our daily menus featuring a variety of regional, international, and seasonal offerings so there are always new sourcing needs. In addition to collaborating with our chefs and other stakeholders (including the catering, events, and accounting teams), you'll establish, develop, and maintain relationships with a variety of vendors. We prioritize sourcing locally whenever possible and work with a variety of purveyors, from local farmers to national wholesalers, to strike the right balance between quality, sustainability and cost. - Excellent communication and customer-service skills
