We are looking for a General Manager to provide all support and assistance necessary to facilitate and lead Epic Waters Indoor Water Park, in Grand Prairie, TX. The Epic Waters Indoor Water Park(GM) is directly responsible for all aspects of the operation and overall financial aspects and profitability of the property, including but not limited to: All guest services and operations through all departments, financials for all revenue and cost centers, food and beverage operations, sales and marketing operations, maintenance, safety and security, and overall upholding expectations as outlined by property ownership and company executive level management.
Essential Position Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Organize and implement strategic and tactical plans to facilitate profitability and guest satisfaction-targeted goals.
· Achieve financial and budget expectations as established by the annual business plan and ownership in all areas of responsibility.
· Adhere to ownership standards and expectations.
· Understand and adhere to all financial aspects of the operation, including budgeted goals, cost controls, profit and loss analysis, proactive cost controlling measures, budget preparation, monthly P&L commentary, AP, and AR procedures, etc.
· Set written priorities and key objectives for each department head quarterly, including action plans and timeline for completion. Follow up on all plans and goals to ensure successful implementation and follow-through. Take corrective actions necessary in the event of failure to meet assigned objectives.
· Ensure the selection, training, and ongoing development and direction of all associates promoting a high level of expertise, commitment, ownership and buy-in to the success of the property. Communicate, counsel, and assist with associate and managers development.
· Be visible and available to all associates in accordance with the Company's open-door policy.
· Evaluate staff regularly and in relation to their performance and achievement of business goals.
· Maintain safety for patrons and fellow staff ensuring a high level of quality, service and safety in all areas of the property.
· Ensure staff and property compliance with all regulations, laws, ordinances, etc. This includes First Aid and CPR training, chemical handling, and certified pool operation certificates if applicable.
· Actively work with sales manager and monitor sales and marketing efforts. Innovate, implement, and assess all marketing campaigns and sales efforts.
· Act as a community liaison with all parties and organize and participate in community related activities that promote the property on a minimum of a quarterly basis.
· Develop monthly forecast of all operating labor and cost expenditures. Keep business planning in line with forecasted sales and costs adjusting as needed according to demand and goals.
· Communicate in positive and productive fashion with all Executive Leadership and Owners, committing to comply with all requests and expectations on a consistent basis.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must have 3-year previous experience as a General Manager.
- Thorough knowledge of all operating systems and equipment.
- Leader and mentor with the ability to motivate, inspire and develop a strong team.
- Ability to achieve profitability and budget goals, with an excellent knowledge of all financial reports and tools. Must be resourceful and responsible for expense control, flow through and profitability of all outlets.
- Excellence in yielding and revenue management strategy, including a track record of positive results.
- Possess sales and marketing ability working with the sales team to maximize revenue and yield strategy.
Physical, Scheduling, and Work Time Requirements:
- Expectation of General Manager is to be available as necessary on every shift, every day, including being on-call as necessary.
- Must work weekends and holidays as needed, with minimal requests for extended periods of time off. Any prior extended time off commitments must be discussed prior to start date.
- Physical ability to stand for extended period and walk majority of shift, climbing stairs, bending, kneeling, reaching, pushing, and pulling while performing job tasks. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or more.
- Must be able to work in a fast paced and sometimes stressful environment with calm, clarity, and focus.
