Job Overview
Join our team as a Farm Property Maintenance and Care specialist, where your expertise will keep our agricultural environment thriving! In this vital role, you will help maintain operational efficiency of farm facilities, machinery, livestock areas, and basic yard maintenance and landscaping on the grounds. Your proactive approach to maintenance, animal care, and equipment management will ensure a safe, productive, and sustainable environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your hands-on skills in an outdoor setting while contributing to the success of our farming operations. You will be working with others as well as independently. This position includes helping maintain a home yard, animal yards, shop and tack rooms, and many other types of gear and equipment on top of animal husbandary.
Duties
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance of farm buildings, fences, irrigation systems, greenhouses, and equipment to ensure optimal operation and safety standards.
- Operate heavy machinery such as agricultural tractors, forklifts, and other farm equipment with precision and adherence to safety protocols.
- Conduct when appropriate repairs on farm machinery, tools, and equipment using welding, mechanical knowledge, hand tools, power tools, and basic math skills for accurate troubleshooting and fixing.
- Manage livestock care including feeding, watering, health monitoring, and handling animals such as horses and other farm animals with compassion and expertise in animal husbandry.
- Assist with animal husbandry tasks such as breeding support, livestock management, and ensuring proper animal husbandry practices are followed.
- Support growing operations by maintaining horticultural activities like planting, pruning, weeding, mowing, and irrigation system upkeep.
- Work with team members during maintenance projects or animal care routines to promote safety standards in production environments while fostering teamwork and efficient workflow.
- Trailer maintetance and tire care.
QUALIFICATIONS / OR WE CAN TEACH WITH A GOOD WORK ETHIC
- Experience in farm work or agriculture with hands-on knowledge of farming practices.
- Independently motivated worker in an outdoor work setting.
- Proficiency in operating heavy equipment such as agricultural tractors, forklifts, power tools, and manual handling techniques.
- Mechanical knowledge related to agricultural machinery repair and maintenance, but does not need to be a mechanic.
- Experience with livestock handling—including animals like horses—and animal husbandry best practices.
- Knowledge of safety standards or common sense.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks efficiently over extended outdoor periods. The job requires the ability to lift hay bales 75-100lbs.
- Familiarity with irrigation systems, horticulture practices, landscape operations, and general farm maintenance procedures.
- Pulling a trailer and backing it up.

Pay: $15.15 - $20.00 per hour
