Logistics Supervisor
We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Logistics Supervisor to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will oversee daily dispatch operations, support transportation coordination, and lead dispatch staff in a fast-paced distribution environment. This role requires strong leadership, organization, and communication skills with the ability to adapt quickly and manage multiple priorities. Based on the uploaded job description.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support daily dispatch operations and workflow execution
- Lead and manage dispatch staff while ensuring operational efficiency
- Monitor and validate entries within TMW TruckMate and maintain related paperwork
- Coordinate transportation and carrier needs with management and customers
- Respond to dispatch-related issues and provide operational support as needed
- Cover open shifts when necessary due to staffing shortages or emergencies
- Maintain communication between dispatch teams, carriers, and management
- Assist with additional operational and administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of logistics, dispatch, transportation, or warehouse supervisory experience
- Strong leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution skills
- Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) preferred
- Knowledge of TruckMate, PC Miler, Fleetmatics, RoadNet, or similar systems is a plus
- Strong analytical, organizational, and multitasking abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Understanding of DOT regulations, load planning, and transportation operations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingual is a plus
- Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends, holidays, overtime, and graveyard shifts
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Additional coursework in logistics, transportation, or related fields preferred
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
- Comfortable standing or sitting for extended periods
- Ability to work in a warehouse/distribution center environment with varying temperatures
