Position Summary
The Production Worker is responsible for processing 20 lb. propane grill cylinders in the outdoor production area of the AmeriGas Cylinder Exchange facility. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork while performing physical labor in a fast-paced production environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Sort, inspect, clean, paint, label, and refill propane cylinders.
- Ensure cylinders meet company quality standards before distribution.
- Load filled cylinders onto trucks for next-day deliveries.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Work effectively as part of a production team to meet daily production goals.
- Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to follow established processes, procedures, and instructions.
- Strong attention to safety and quality.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Basic mechanical aptitude.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production setting.
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
- Ability to obtain required state licensing.
- Ability to become forklift certified.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for 8–12 hours per shift.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the workday.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to perform repetitive bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
Education & Experience
Required:
- 0–3 years of work experience.
Preferred:
- Manufacturing, production, warehouse, or industrial experience.
- High School Diploma or GED.
Work Environment
- Primarily outdoor work environment.
- Fast-paced production facility.
- Exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions.
- Safety-sensitive position requiring strict adherence to company policies and procedures.
