Food Service Director (FSD) – Nursing Home
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Food Service Director (FSD) to lead the dietary department at our skilled nursing facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare food service management and a passion for ensuring residents receive nutritious, well-prepared meals in a safe and sanitary environment.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the dietary department, including food preparation, service, and sanitation
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including DOH and CMS standards
- Manage inventory, ordering, and food cost control
- Hire, train, and supervise dietary staff, ensuring proper scheduling and performance standards
- Collaborate with nursing staff and dietitians to meet residents' dietary needs and preferences
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant kitchen and dining area
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Food Service Director or Dietary Manager in a long-term care or healthcare setting
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and dietary requirements for geriatric populations
- ServSafe certification required (or must be willing to obtain)
- Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) preferred
