The Culinary Director is responsible for overseeing the culinary department, ensuring exceptional service and dining experiences for residents. This position entails creating menus, upholding culinary standards, and overseeing front and back of house operations. The role prioritizes supervision, training, and leadership in a nurturing, development-focused setting.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the kitchen to deliver flawless, five-star service every time.
- Make sure the food is cooked to culinary standards and offers residents a wonderful dining experience.
- Create menus using fresh ingredients based on resident needs and preferences.
- Limit waste and keep portion control.
Requirements
- At least three (3) years of experience in senior or assisted living, or related field (preferred, not required).
- Demonstrated skills, knowledge, and competency in leadership, training, and supervision.
- Proficient written and oral communication skills with management and staff.
- Completed formal culinary, food service or restaurant training or equivalent supervisory/management experience.
- Active role requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day.
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable with extreme temperatures, including cooking surfaces and walk-in freezers.
- ServSafe certification.
