POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a skilled CDL Truck Driver to join our transportation team. As a CDL Truck Driver, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting goods and materials to designated destinations. Your role will play a crucial part in ensuring the timely delivery of products and contributing to our company's reputation for reliability.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· It is the driver’s responsibility to know, understand, and operate according to all laws and DOT regulations.
· Conduct pre-trip, inter trip, and post trip inspection for all units operated in accordance with DOT and FMCSA regulation 49 C.F.R. § 396.11.
· Responsible for daily fueling of the tractor(s) used.
· Operate vehicle safely while maintaining DOT compliance and following all local, state, and Federal requirements.
· Responsible for keeping your tractor clean and neat. (Also pertains to when assigned use of spare truck; keep neat, clean and refueled).
· Work with shipping as required.
· Work with Fleet Maintenance as required.
· Verify load and load destination and proper load securement.
· Responsible for filling out all paperwork on any returned products.
· Responsible for completing the day’s work that you picked from the schedule.
· Every driver is responsible for picking up Epic pallets and not leaving them for the next driver.
· Accurately report hours of service in accordance with DOT and FMCSA regulations 49 C.F.R. § 395.8 and 49 C.F.R. § 395.11 using an electronic logging device (ELD). Review log and then certify log at the end of each day.
· Responsible for chocking trailers before unhooking at loading and unloading docks.
· Must turn off engine when hooking or unhooking inside of truck bays.
· Be courteous to customers and all people at locations.
· Report to work at designated times for assigned route/routes in a well-rested condition ready to work and drive.
· Document and report any defects or concerns with truck/tractor and/or trailer within the Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR).
· Responsible for Compliance with all Epic GMPs & Safety Policies.
· Any other duties assigned by Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Must be at least 21 years or older
· Must pass all DOT requirements, physical exam, and drug test.
· Valid CDL license
· Good MVR and safe driving record.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
· Fluid levels and Fueling: Must have general knowledge of proper procedures of checking fluids / fuel and replenishment process.
· FMCSA Regulations: Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) requirements and regulations, including hours of service.
· Defensive Driving: Attending all required safety training and knowledge of defensive driving techniques that anticipate dangerous situations, despite adverse conditions or the mistakes of others when operating a motor vehicle. This includes managing space around vehicles, managing speed of travel, maintaining awareness of other drivers, checking, and using mirrors, and using indicators such as signaling.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & ABILITIES:
· Remain in a seated position for prolonged periods of time.
· Operate motorized vehicles such as tractor trailers.
· Climb ramps and/or stairs to enter/exit tractor and/or trailer.
· Ability to engage in crawling, crouching, kneeling, or stooping as required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
· Work varying hours of the day as required.
· Work in environments requiring personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to steel toe boots and close-toed slip resistant shoes.
· Work in areas requiring exposure to varying temperatures, extreme heat or cold, and/or wet, damp, or drafty conditions.

Pay: From $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
