Duties
- Safely handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments during bathing, grooming, and drying processes
- Perform thorough pet grooming tasks including bathing, brushing, trimming nails, cleaning ears, and styling coats according to breed standards or owner requests
- Restrain animals gently yet securely to ensure safety during grooming procedures
- Maintain cleanliness of grooming stations and equipment to uphold hygiene standards
- Monitor dogs’ health and behavior during grooming sessions, alerting team members or veterinarians if any concerns arise
- Assist with pet sitting or kennel duties when needed, ensuring animals are comfortable and cared for throughout their stay
- Support team members with heavy lifting of grooming supplies or large dogs as required
Skills
- Proven experience in dog handling and pet grooming techniques
- Knowledge of veterinary procedures, animal restraint, and pet care best practices
- Background in veterinary technician or assistant roles is highly advantageous
- Familiarity with dog training principles and animal behavior management
- Ability to perform detailed grooming tasks with precision and care
- Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting, standing long hours, and performing active animal handling tasks
