Job Summary: Sheetfed Press 2nd Pressman
The 2nd Pressman is responsible for working closely with the 1st Pressman to produce all offset press projects in compliance with job specifications and in accordance with company quality standards and procedures. Perform daily/weekly/monthly maintenance on equipment to ensure optimum output. Work closely with other team members to exceed customer expectations.
As the 2nd Pressman and a member of the Production Team, you are accountable for:
· Meeting department production and quality goals as well as providing value to our customers
· Playing a key role in meeting the company wide profitability and customer satisfaction goals

· Following systems and procedures outlined in the company manuals, procedures and work instructions
· Complying with all OSHA safety requirements
· Comply with food safety regulations as required at EPI locations inspected by AIB
Responsibilities and Duties:
General and Administrative
· Coordinate with Production Team to produce and prioritize jobs and, when necessary, reorganize to meet deadline changes and updates
· Participate as a key player in the Production Team by supporting operations as needed
· Communicate effectively with the Production Manager and the production team, informing and updating them regularly to guarantee that sales objectives and customer objectives are met
Press Operations
· Maintain proper plates, paper and ink at press and ready to go
· Keep ink fountains full and supplies prepared for use ie: rags, solvent, skids etc..
· Operate and troubleshoot feeder to reduce kick offs, double sheets and downtime
· Wear appropriate protective items, including but not limited to ear protection, eye protection, gloves, footwear, etc.
· Maintain knowledge of safety requirements of job and equipment; be familiar with Safety Data Sheets regarding chemicals used
· Perform and sign quality check sheets during the run
Equipment and Supplies
· Clean and maintain equipment and work area following maintenance procedures and update maintenance logs
· Monitor and manage inventory of press supplies and keep supervisor informed of needs
· Inform supervisor of equipment problems
Required Qualifications:
· Legal ability to work in the United States
· High school diploma/GED with experience, vocational/technical certification or equivalent work experience/on the job training
Desired Qualifications:
· Vocational/technical degree in graphic arts
· Minimum of 3 years of 40” sheetfed press experience
· Manroland and/or Heidelberg press experience preferred
· Strong interpersonal skills
· Good mathematical skills
· Able to apply written instructions to machine set-up and maintenance
· Reliable attendance, punctuality and attention to work area
Working Conditions:
· Standing for prolonged periods of time - up to 8 hours or more per day
· Frequent lifting of objects weighing 30 or more lbs.
· Periodic overtime
· Work area may have fluorescent lighting and air conditioning
· Noise level is usually moderate to loud
· Exposure to ink and chemical fumes, and airborne particles such as paper dust and drying powder
· Fast-paced environment subject to numerous schedule and priority changes and short notice activity
