Job Title: Right of Way Agent
Job Summary: Working on a daily basis with both internal and external clienteles on preconstruction activities as related to engineering and planning of telecommunication projects. Responsible for the day-to-day completion of permits applications, submittal and acquisition of permits, research, contacting landowners, and preparing and negotiating easements from private landowners, as needed, for approaching construction activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for the screening of construction paths to determine right of way requirements. May be required to walk construction routes on occasion. Must have the ability to work in extreme conditions, wind, cold, heat, dark, light, etc. in both isolated/remote rural areas and urban environments.
- Must have the ability to sit for extended periods of time while operating a computer.
- Regular and routine work attendance is required and both overnight travel and after hours work are necessary. Extensive travel (driving) throughout clients service areas is required
- Possess the ability to examine public property records to ascertain ownership of properties, the existence of any encumbrances and other rights-of-way, and the disposition of rights along streets, roadways, drainage ways, alleys, and highways.
- Negotiate and coordinates execution of private easements and public right of way permit applications. Must have the ability to research, contact property owners, negotiate easements, complete permits, and apply for right of way through various permitting agencies.
- Possess the ability to quickly grasp numerous and constantly evolving procedures/guidelines received from clients, government agencies, and management. Thorough and complete in preparing private easements and public permits applications with accurate legal land descriptions.
- Possess the ability to establish relationships with landowners and public ROW agency representatives. Must have the ability to work with people from a wide variety of personalities and backgrounds in a calm, productive and professional manner. Must be pleasant, courteous, and congenial at all times and have the ability to communicate effectively through various systems both in writing and verbally.
