POSITION SUMMARY
2 YEARS FLATBED EXPERIENCE- NON-ASSET BASED PREFERRED
The employee coordinates the activities of carriers resulting in their optimum use which contributes to the overall profitability of Epes Logistics Services, Inc. and the accompanying subsidiaries and divisions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Develop and maintain a list of carriers they will utilize to cover our freight and communicate with on a daily basis using Phone, email and other technology. Responsible for assigning those carriers as a carrier manager and work daily/ hourly with this carrier to source capacity.
Establish Epes Logistics Services, Inc. as a customer to your select group of outside carriers, emphasizing our/your value and strengths to create partnerships for repeat business.
Responsible for securing adequate capacity for all freight booked in the system
Responsible for decisions and implementation of pick-up and delivery to ensure customer requirements are met.
Responsible for tracking and tracing their loads scheduled for pick-up, and those with delivery status to ensure Customer Requirements are met with on time service and correct equipment.
Responsible for meeting/exceeding Load count, Margin $, and Margin % budget Goals
Identify major issues between carrier and Epes Logistics and bring to resolution.
Coordinate and monitor performance of affiliate and partner carriers.
Maintain daily reports and review for carrier performance.
Work and Analyze available loads daily for repetitive lanes that could become “Dedicated.”
Respond and find carriers for all submitted requests from sales, operations or pricing on specific needs.
Integrate with Marketing and Sales staff to establish specific requirements for the customer.
Demonstrates support to the Epes Carriers, Inc. Quality Management System and its objectives, as applicable.
Work with the Vice President of Quality to establish and promote a true quality improvement process to include the Quality Management System at the company with the involvement of all personnel.
Perform other duties as directed by the Operations Manager.
PRIORITIES SERVED

Create and Manage appointed carrier base

Secure carrier within customer rate schedule to ensure profit margins as required by the budget

Ensure carrier will meet customer pick-up and delivery schedules

Seek out additional carrier opportunities to guarantee at all times the carrier list is sufficient to handle needs to meet budgeted goals

Secure carriers to insure all lanes are covered as required

Follow-up on customer concerns relating to a carrier’s performance; eliminate carriers that do not meet Epes Logistics standards

Ensure that customer and carrier concerns or complaints are dealt with on a timely basis
