Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cashier/Sales Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for customers, providing exceptional service while efficiently handling transactions. You will play a vital role in maintaining a positive shopping experience, assisting with stock management, and contributing to sales goals.
Responsibilities
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately and efficiently to process customer transactions.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and resolving any issues that may arise.
- Assist in upselling products and promoting sales to enhance the customer shopping experience.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring all merchandise is properly stocked and displayed.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure inventory levels are adequate and assist in restocking as needed.
- Utilize retail math skills to manage cash handling, including balancing cash drawers at the end of shifts.
- Supervise junior staff or new hires as necessary, providing training on best practices in customer service and sales techniques.
- Communicate effectively with customers and team members, fostering a welcoming environment.
Qualifications
- Experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred.
- Wine knowledge is a plus, but not required. Training will be provided.
- Interest in learning more about wine, beer and spirits
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse customers.
- Familiarity with retail math concepts to ensure accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
- Experience in supervising or training staff is advantageous.
- A proactive approach to upselling products and driving sales performance.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed
