Wind Turbine Technician – Mechanical Completion Oversight (Utility-Scale Wind)
Location: Johnstown, PA region (multiple wind project sites)
Contract Duration: Start ASAP - Estimated completion July–August 2026
Rotation Schedule: One rotation per month
Two active utility-scale wind repowering projects totaling 62 turbines. Work includes removal of existing Nordex turbines and installation of new tower adapter sections paired with V120 nacelles, hubs, and blades.
Role Summary
The Wind Turbine Technician will support the mechanical completion phase of turbine removal and reinstallation. In this role, you will act as the Owner’s technical representative, overseeing contractor activities and participating in MCC walkdowns with the contractor and OEM to ensure the turbines are installed correctly, safely, and in accordance with project standards.
This is primarily a quality-focused role, where you'll monitor field work, verify completion of each turbine’s mechanical installation, and assist in identifying and resolving any deficiencies prior to turnover.

Key Responsibilities
- Observe and evaluate contractor work during turbine removal and reinstallation.
- Support and participate in the mechanical completion (MCC) process, including walkdowns and inspection tracking.
- Perform quality reviews to confirm correct installation of mechanical components.
- Coordinate field activities with contractor teams and OEM representatives.
- Identify installation issues and assist with tracking corrective actions.
- Promote and enforce safety expectations on site.
- Provide detailed reporting on daily progress, quality observations, and MCC readiness.
- Hands-on experience with wind turbine mechanical systems (installation, heavy component replacement, or major corrective work).
- Prior involvement with mechanical completion, commissioning, or quality assurance on wind projects.
- Familiarity with Vestas turbines (V120) strongly preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively with contractor and OEM personnel.
- Knowledge of safety practices related to turbine construction or maintenance.
- Comfortable working on a defined rotation schedule.
