The Director, Total Rewards leads the strategic and operational direction of Bel Fuse’s compensation, benefits, payroll, and rewards programs. By ensuring all programs are competitive, compliant, and aligned with business objectives, the Director, Total Rewards enhances associate engagement and retention while maintaining rigorous standards of excellence and integrity across all Total Rewards functions.
Are You Looking to:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive Total Rewards strategy that supports Bel Fuse’s business goals and talent management objectives.
- Collaborate with regional HR teams to provide guidance on global rewards strategy.
- Lead the design, benchmarking, and administration of base salary, short- and long-term incentives, and equity programs. Conduct market analysis to ensure competitiveness and equity.
- Develop, lead, and guide execution of the annual compensation cycle (e.g. merit, short-term incentive payout, equity events as applicable, etc.), including planning/timeline governance, HR Business Partner enablement, manager communications, approval workflows, and audit-ready documentation to ensure consistent, accurate, and compliant outcomes.
- Support the management of executive compensation and equity programs in accordance with public company standards and applicable regulations.
- Oversee US health, wellness, retirement, and other benefit programs. Evaluate and recommend enhancements to ensure programs meet associate needs and regulatory requirements.
- Direct and supervise the US payroll function, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, as well as internal controls and company policies.
- Develop and manage recognition programs to foster a culture of performance and appreciation.
- Ensure all rewards programs comply with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as relevant public company requirements. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and trends.
- Utilize HRIS and analytics tools to assess program effectiveness, model cost impacts, forecast budget requirements, provide actionable insights, and support decision-making.
- Monitor trends, associate behaviors, and external market developments to identify proactive opportunities.
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team of professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous development.
- Provide clear direction, set performance expectations, and ensure the team is aligned with business and functional goals.
- Develop, manage, and monitor budgets for Total Rewards programs. Analyze cost implications, ensure fiscal responsibility, and report on program ROI.
- Partner with HR, Finance, Internal Audit, Legal, and business leaders to align rewards strategies with organizational priorities. Communicate programs effectively to management and associates; coordinate with global teams as needed.
- Participate in due diligence, assess Total Rewards programs of acquired entities, and lead integration of compensation, benefits, payroll, and HR policies to ensure a seamless transition and alignment with the business.
- Manage relationships with external providers and consultants to optimize program delivery and cost-effectiveness.

Job Requirements:
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field required; Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., GPHR, SPHR, CCP, CBP) preferred.
- Minimum 10 years in compensation, benefits, and payroll with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Deep experience managing compensation, benefits, and rewards programs, including executive compensation, public company requirements, and global rewards frameworks and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated experience overseeing payroll operations, including compliance, process optimization, technology, and vendor management.
- In-depth knowledge of compensation, benefits, payroll, and rewards best practices.
- Demonstrated experience supporting or leading Total Rewards activities during mergers, acquisitions, and integration processes, including due diligence, program assessment, and harmonization of compensation, benefits, and payroll.
- Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
- High integrity, confidentiality, and good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
- Business and financial acumen, budgeting, analysis, and strategic thinking.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities, with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Advanced proficiency with payroll, HRIS (Oracle, ADP preferred), compensation, and benefits platforms, reporting and data analytics tools.
- MS Office Suite experience, with expert-level proficiency in Excel, including the ability to create, analyze, and interpret complex data sets using pivot tables, formulas, and advanced functions to support compensation, benefits, and payroll analytics.
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects and priorities in a fast-paced, global environment, maintaining a proactive and hands-on approach. Detail-oriented and able to meet deadlines.
- Strong project management skills and demonstrated experience driving process improvement, leveraging technology to optimize operations, and leading change management.
- Demonstrated experience utilizing artificial intelligence and technology tools to enhance operations, drive efficiency, and support business objectives. Ability to identify opportunities for AI-driven solutions and implement them effectively for Total Rewards functions.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant laws and regulations (e.g. ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, FLSA, State and Local Wage & Hour Laws, EPA, IRC, ADA, SEC Regulations, and applicable global regulations).
- A “roll up your sleeves” attitude and willingness to do the day-to-day work.
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
