Role Description This is a part-time, on-site Trainer role based at the EōS Fitness location in Encinitas, CA. The Trainer will work directly with members to assess fitness levels, discuss goals, and design safe, effective workout programs tailored to individual needs. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading one-on-one and small group training sessions, demonstrating proper exercise techniques, monitoring member progress, and providing ongoing coaching and motivation. The Trainer will also help maintain equipment and training areas, promote gym programs and services, and collaborate with team members to support a positive, inclusive club environment. Administrative tasks such as scheduling sessions, documenting member progress, and attending staff meetings and trainings are also part of the role.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of exercise science, strength and cardio training, and safe workout practices.
- Experience designing personalized training programs and coaching clients toward fitness and wellness goals.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and support a diverse member base.
- Ability to provide clear instruction and demonstration of proper form and technique across a variety of exercises.
- Organizational skills to manage schedules, track client progress, and handle multiple sessions throughout the day.
- Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe training environment and adhering to club policies and safety standards.
- Nationally recognized personal training certification (e.g., NASM, ACE, ACSM, ISSA) preferred or willingness to obtain.
- CPR/AED certification or willingness to obtain within a designated timeframe.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by member needs.
- Prior experience in a gym or fitness setting is beneficial but not required for highly motivated candidates.
