What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr. Financial Reporting Accountant position at EOG Resources?
Perform a variety of duties related to internal and external financial reporting, including:

- Prepare detailed schedules for monthly management reports and quarterly internal reporting packages.
- Assist in preparation of SEC filings (Form 10-Q and Form 10-K), including numeric disclosures, narrative sections, and review of XBRL tagging.
- Support quarterly reporting processes, including investor relations document review and internal reporting schedules.
- Prepare quarterly auditor schedules and government reports.
- Perform in-depth technical accounting research on complex transactions and emerging standards.
- Draft clear, well-supported technical accounting position papers for internal review and external audit purposes.
- Monitor and interpret new accounting guidance and assess its impact on the organization.
- Assist with maintenance and optimization of Oracle HFM and consolidation processes.
- Leverage financial systems and reporting tools to analyze data, identify trends, and recommend process improvements.
- Partner with IT and finance teams to implement automation and efficiency initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Master's degree a plus.
- Active CPA License or actively pursuing CPA License and already CPA eligible
- 3-5 years of relevant experience; public accounting experience strongly preferred.
- Experience in upstream oil and gas accounting desirable.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including ASC 932, ASC 842, and ASC 606.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel; familiarity with Oracle HFM and other financial reporting tools a plus.
- Ability to leverage IT systems and software to analyze data and improve processes.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate complex information logically, accurately, and concisely.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet rigorous deadlines.
- Self-starter who can perform assignments with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to write technical accounting research papers.
- Experience implementing process improvements and automation within finance functions.
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
