Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Property and Facilities Assistant to oversee the maintenance, repair, and operational efficiency of our buildings and facilities. In this vital role, you will ensure that all property systems and equipment function smoothly, creating a safe, comfortable, and productive environment for staff and visitors alike. Your expertise in mechanical, plumbing, and building interior/exterior maintenance will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity of our facilities to help maintain the appearance, functionality, and organization. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a variety of tasks, takes pride in their work, and can work independently to ensure our grounds, buildings, and storage areas remain clean, safe, organized, and well-maintained.

The Property & Facilities Assistant will perform general maintenance, landscaping, cleaning, organization, and property upkeep duties to support daily operations and present a professional appearance for employees, customers, and visitors.
This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to lead maintenance initiatives, troubleshoot complex issues, and contribute to the overall excellence of our property management.

Key ResponsibilitiesProperty & Building Maintenance

• Perform routine inspections of buildings, grounds, and facilities to identify maintenance needs.
• Complete minor repairs and maintenance tasks, including painting, touch-ups, basic carpentry, and general handyman duties.
• Report larger maintenance issues and coordinate repairs with outside vendors as needed.
• Ensure facilities remain clean, safe, and in good working order.

Cleaning & Appearance

• Maintain the cleanliness and overall appearance of buildings, common areas, entrances, walkways, and parking areas.
• Pressure wash, sweep, remove debris, and perform seasonal cleanup tasks.
• Assist with event setup, breakdown, and facility preparation when needed.
• Monitor and replenish facility supplies as directed.

Landscaping & Groundskeeping

• Maintain landscaped areas through mowing, trimming, edging, pruning, mulching, and weed control.
• Plant and care for flowers, shrubs, and other landscape features.
• Remove litter and ensure grounds remain presentable and inviting.
• Assist with irrigation system monitoring and basic maintenance.

Storage & Inventory Management

• Organize storage rooms, maintenance areas, and equipment sheds.
• Maintain accurate inventories of tools, supplies, and equipment.
• Track materials usage and notify management when supplies need replenishment.
• Ensure tools and equipment are properly stored, maintained, and secured.

General Support

• Operate hand tools, power tools, and landscaping equipment safely.
• Follow company safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
• Assist with special projects and property improvement initiatives as assigned.
• Provide general facility support and other duties as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in property maintenance, facilities support, landscaping, construction, custodial services, or related fields preferred.
• Basic knowledge of building maintenance, repairs, and landscaping practices.
• Ability to safely operate maintenance and landscaping equipment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and work outdoors for extended periods.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions and environments.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
