What are the responsibilities and job description for the Category Analyst position at Envoy Solutions?
Position Overview
Reporting to the Sr. Director of Cost Management, this position will interact actively with all aspects of the Commercial and Industrial sales team, purchasing and other cross-functional teams involving Category Management. The primary responsibility of this position is to initiate and lead primary tasks/projects on key sales programs and work closely with sales and category leadership to develop reporting and business analytic tools.
Responsibilities Include:
- Initiate business critical projects supporting gross margin cost improvements, financial analysis on key business issues, and reporting.
- Directly negotiate with Company suppliers to enhance profitability of end-user pricing and programs.
- Working both independently as well as with direction from the Director of Cost Management, drive system enhancements and user training relating to category management projects.
- Establish project plans and key milestones to ensure timeline and budget achievement.
- Responsible for identifying, interpreting and analyzing trends to achieve company’s business goals in the area of category management.
- Develop reporting capabilities and monitor system to identify areas of improvement for sales and category teams.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Working experience in business analytics, change management and/or process improvement.
- Ability to work independently in matters of strategic importance to the Company
- Proven working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst.
- Ability to conduct cost and benefit analysis.
- Advanced Microsoft application experience.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
