Seasonal Snow Removal Crew - Independent Contractor

NO PRIOR SNOW REMOVAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED- Dependable individuals who are willing and able to perform the work are encouraged to apply.

We are currently building a dependable 10-12 person snow removal team for the upcoming winter season.

This is a seasonal, weather-dependent independent contractor opportunity running approximately late November through February. Contractors will be contacted when snow or ice events require service. Hours will vary based on weather conditions and are not guaranteed.

Pay: $25.00 per hour

Responsibilities:

• Shovel and remove snow from sidewalks, walkways, entrances, and designated areas
• Apply ice melt and other de-icing materials
• Keep assigned areas clear during snow and ice events
• Perform physically demanding outdoor work for extended periods
• Assist with active-storm and post-storm cleanup
• Communicate with the onsite point of contact regarding assignments and completion

Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Valid government-issued ID
• Must satisfy applicable background-screening requirements
• Reliable transportation to and from the worksite, including during winter weather
• Physically capable of shoveling, lifting, walking, and performing snow-removal work for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Comfortable working outdoors in snow, ice, freezing temperatures, wind, and other severe winter conditions
• Flexible availability during snow events, including nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays when necessary
• Extended availability may be required during significant snow events
• Previous snow-removal experience is preferred, but not required

Schedule & Hours:

This is an on-call, weather-dependent opportunity. Weekly ours will vary depending on snowfall and ice conditions. There may be weeks with little or no work, while significant winter weather events may require extended shifts.

Independent Contractor Status:

This opportunity is structured as a 1099 independent contractor position. Selected contractors will be required to complete applicable onboarding documentation before accepting assignments.

Pay: $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1.0 – 40.0 per week

• Do you have reliable transportation to and from the Fort Belvoir worksite, including during snow and winter weather conditions?
• Are you generally available for on-call snow removal work, including nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays when winter weather occurs?
• Are you able to perform physically demanding outdoor work, including shoveling, lifting, walking, and working for extended periods in freezing or severe winter weather, with or without reasonable accommodation?
• During significant snow or ice events, are you generally able to remain available for extended work periods?
• Do you have previous snow removal, landscaping, construction, moving, warehouse, or other physically demanding outdoor/labor experience?
