Entry to Mid-Level Environmental Staff

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Mid-Level Staff Scientist /Geologist to support environmental projects primarily governed by NJDEP regulations. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience with NJDEP’s Technical Requirements for Site Remediation (TRSR), applicable guidance documents, and reporting formats. This role requires strong field capabilities, a solid technical writing background, and the ability to manage project tasks under the supervision of an LSRP.

Key Responsibilities:

· Conduct Preliminary Assessments and Site Investigations in accordance with NJAC 7:26E

· Oversee soil and groundwater investigations, including soil borings, monitoring well installation, and sampling

· Support Remedial Investigation and Remedial Action phases, including RAW, RAP, and RAR preparation

· Prepare and review NJDEP-compliant reports, including EDDs and forms via NJDEP portals

· Coordinate laboratory analyses and validate analytical data against NJDEP standards

· Assist LSRPs with regulatory submissions and client communications

· Ensure fieldwork is completed safely, accurately, and in compliance with NJDEP protocols

· Support contractor oversight during remedial construction activities

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Environmental Science (Master’s a plus)

· 2–5 years of environmental consulting experience with demonstrated NJDEP project experience

· Familiarity with NJDEP guidance documents, including TRSR, IEC Guidance, Vapor Intrusion Technical Guidance, etc.

· Current 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification (or ability to obtain prior to start)

· Strong writing skills and proficiency with GIS, Excel, and environmental data platforms

· Experience with NJDEP Data Miner and EDD formatting preferred

· Valid driver's license and ability to travel to sites across New Jersey

· Ideal candidates will have a strong interest in obtaining their LSRP license and advancing into a senior technical role

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
