What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Supported Living - I/DD Waiver Agency - Residential position at Envision Ohio?
Envision is a local noprofit agency dedicated to supporting individuals with disabilities. We are currently seeking a Director of Supported Living. The Director of Supported Living provides strategic and caring leadership for agency’s Homemaker / Personal Care services for people with developmental disabilities living in group homes, apartments, and family homes throughout the Greater Cincinnati area.
JOB DUTIES INCLUDE
Leadership & Mission Alignment
- Model Envision’s Mission, Vision, and Values in all interactions.
- Serve on the Leadership Team and participate in strategic planning and agency initiatives.
- Build trust and maintain strong relationships with staff, individuals, families, county boards, and state partners.
- Promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and advocacy for people with disabilities.
- Seek ongoing professional learning and stay current with best practices in the field
Supervision
- Provide leadership and daily supervision to Supported Living staff.
- Complete and approve timesheets, PTO, evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
- Mentor staff, promote professional growth, and support crisis response.
- Ensure all staff meet training, orientation, and certification requirements.
- Maintain clear and effective communication within the Supported Living program.
Operations & Quality Outcomes
- Ensure compliance with all Envision, state, federal, and contractual regulations.
- Oversee quality of services through visits, audits, and monitoring activities.
- Prepare and submit required reports; develop corrective action plans as needed.
- Manage admissions, discharges, and service planning to meet OISP requirements.
- Monitor conditions of homes, vehicles, and service environments for safety and cleanliness.
- Investigate and report incidents; implement prevention plans.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training of staff.
- Develop and enforce policies and procedures to support effective operations.
- Maintain and participate in a 24/7 on‑call coverage systems.
- Lead quality assurance activities and participate in local quality initiatives.
- Serve as agency liaison to families, county boards, and community partners.
- Identify new service opportunities and assist with program development.
Finance
- Collaborate with the CEO and CFO to develop and manage program budgets.
- Ensure financial compliance and oversee service authorization and billing processes.
- Participate in contract negotiations as requested.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience.
- Experience supporting individuals with I/DD in home and community settings.
- Strong background working with individuals with complex medical, behavioral, or mental health needs.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and lead teams effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to travel between agency locations.
