Envision is seeking a highly skilled Principal DevOps Engineer to join our team in Annapolis Junction, Maryland.
What You'll Do
As a Principal DevOps Engineer, you will lead the design, automation, deployment, and maintenance of scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure supporting mission-critical applications.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, deploy, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes
- Lead DevOps initiatives across development, testing, staging, and production environments
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management solutions using tools such as Ansible and Puppet
- Manage and optimize Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-based environments
- Develop automation scripts and tools using Python, Ruby, Java, or similar languages
- Support software development teams through the full application lifecycle
- Architect scalable, resilient, and high-availability solutions
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and improve operational efficiency
- Serve as a technical leader within Agile development teams
- Collaborate across engineering, security, and operations teams to drive continuous improvement
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
- 10 years of DevOps, Systems Engineering, or related experience
- Experience with:
- Git and version control best practices
- Linux administration (RHEL, CentOS)
- Docker and Kubernetes
- Jenkins and/or Bamboo
- AWS cloud environments
- Infrastructure Automation (Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment strategies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Python, Go, Java, Ruby, C , or similar programming languages
- Experience with Software Defined Networking (SDN)
- Experience supporting Platform as a Service (PaaS) environments
- Elasticsearch (Kibana a plus)
- Redis, ActiveMQ, Memcache, or similar technologies
Security Clearance:
- Current/Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph.
The projected compensation range for this position is $215,000.00-$224,000.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location , education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
