What are the responsibilities and job description for the Banquet Houseman position at enVision Hotel & Conference Center Mansfield-Foxboro?
Job Description:
The Banquet House person does the setup, breakdown and storage of tables, chairs, dance floors, etc. for special event functions at the hotel. It is a very physical position with lots of lifting, bending, pushing and pulling. The Banquet House person must be able to follow the Banquet Event Order directions very clearly. The Banquet House person shifts may be scheduled for nontraditional shift times
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Setting the event according to the BEO instructions
- Report any maintenance issues while setting so they can be corrected prior to the event
- Breakdown room set and/or reset room as directed or store equipment, and clean room/area as directed
- During course of setup or breakdown, maintain proper care of equipment, do not cause damage to doors, walls, doorways or flooring
- Utilize proper ergonomics when setting or breaking down, ask for assistance when necessary
- Conduct quality check on condition of tables, chairs and linens while setting the room
- Assist Banquet Servers as instructed by the Banquet Manager
ADDITIONAL DUTIES: May be asked by management to perform additional task:
- These include helping assemble temporary dance floors, podiums and other structures; relaying data to outside departments
- Assist audio-visual personnel in setting up equipment like speakers, microphones and monitors.
