Duties
- Collect, review, and organize borrower documentation
- Assist the Loan Officer with all aspects of loan origination and closing
- Communicate with clients, partners, and internal team members as needed
- Ensure loan files are complete, accurate, and compliant
- Track deadlines and follow up to keep loans moving forward
Requirements
- Valid mortgage license (e.g., NMLS) with experience as a licensed Loan Officer Assistant or similar role in the financial services industry
- Strong knowledge of mortgage products, loan origination procedures, and banking regulations including TILA and Fair Housing laws
- Proficiency in financial software such as Quicken, accounting software, and mortgage-specific platforms like FNMA guidelines systems
- Excellent negotiation skills combined with a customer-centric approach to service delivery
- Basic math skills for credit analysis, escrow calculations, and contract review processes
- Familiarity with mortgage servicing procedures, underwriting standards, and loan processing workflows
- Ability to perform 10 key typing efficiently while maintaining accuracy under deadlines
