What are the responsibilities and job description for the Counselor position at Envision Education?

City Arts and Leadership seeks a Licensed Social Emotional Counselor for high school students. Reporting to the school Principal, the Counselor will sustain a safe, college-going culture for diverse learners and their families to ensure social-emotional well-being and a successful transition to college and careers.

$5000 Signing Bonus for fully credentialed hires. $5000 City Arts and Leadership Supplement.

This role is 100% in person and on site, with no hybrid or remote work option.

Key Responsibilities

  • Student academic case management.
  • Provide mental health counseling in individual and group formats.
  • Participates as a member of the school site's Crisis Response Team.
  • Provide individualized services in a full-inclusion Special Education model.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to students with learning, behavior and/or adjustment challenges.
  • Acts as a contact/liaison for families with high needs.
  • Coordinates services with Special Education team, and mental health service providers.
  • Maintain accurate records of all psychological/ counseling/ social services.
  • Responds to crises in tandem with colleagues and community personnel.

Qualifications

  • Required: A Master’s degree in Counseling or a related field required
  • Required: One of the following:
    • PPS (Pupil Personnel Services) credential in School Counseling
    • MFT (if you hold an MFT, you must also hold a PPS)
    • LCSW
    • LPCC
    • LMFCC
    • Licensed Educational, School, or Clinical Psychologist
  • Two years or more of experience in a school setting preferred
  • Receptiveness to feedback and desire to continuously improve instruction in service of student academic outcomes
  • Experience working successfully with parents and families, especially African American, Latine/a/o/x, and immigrant families
  • Spanish fluency preferred

Compensation & Benefits

The annual salary range for this role is: $67,172 - $102,546 and is dependent upon years of aligned experience and credentials.

$5000 Signing Bonus for fully credentialed hires. $5000 City Arts and Leadership Supplement.

  • Additional Supplements for:
    • Second Credential: $500
    • Doctorate: $2,000
    • Board Certification: $5,000
  • Additional Leadership Stipends for:
    • Instructional Lead Team: $5,000
    • Grade Level Lead Team: $5,000
    • Summer Professional Development: $250/day
