Description
A newly opened restaurant in North Tonawanda is seeking an experience Pizza Maker. The Pizza Maker is responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality pizzas in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment. This role requires strong knowledge of pizza production, dough handling, topping preparation, oven execution, and consistency in quality and presentation. Experience with Detroit-style pizza is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook pizzas according to standardized recipes, specifications, and quality standards.
- Stretch, press, or shape dough and prepare pizza bases efficiently and consistently.
- Assemble pizzas with proper portioning, topping distribution, and presentation.
- Operate pizza ovens safely and effectively to ensure accurate cook times and product quality.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked pizza station throughout each shift.
- Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures to maintain a safe kitchen environment.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient service during peak hours.
- Monitor food quality and ensure orders are prepared correctly and delivered on time.
- Assist with prep work, ingredient rotation, and inventory awareness to minimize waste.
- Complete closing duties including cleaning equipment, station breakdown, and restocking as assigned by the Kitchen Manager.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- 2–4 years of experience working in a high-volume pizza environment required.
- Detroit-style pizza experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong knowledge of pizza-making techniques, dough handling, sauces, toppings, and oven cooking.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong attention to detail, food consistency, and presentation.
- Reliable and able to work well as part of a team.
- Must be available nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Continuously bend, reach, twist and use your hands and arms.
- Able to lift 40 pounds at a time.
