Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Oracle Primavera Scheduler to support planning, budgeting, and execution of USACE Civil Works projects. The ideal candidate will develop, maintain, and analyze detailed project schedules that align with program goals and federal requirements, ensuring accurate resource planning and timely project delivery. This role requires strong proficiency in Oracle Primavera, experience with schedule resource loading, and the ability to integrate schedule and cost data to support decision-making across complex infrastructure programs.
The Scheduler will work closely with Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, engineers, and financial teams to gather inputs, prepare updates, and provide clear, timely schedule reporting. Exceptional communication skills are essential, as the position involves frequent coordination, interpretation of technical information, and presentation of schedule impacts to project stakeholders. Past experience with P2 (Older version of Primavera) is a must. Experience working on specific USACE projects is desired. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, analytical professional who can balance technical scheduling expertise with strong interpersonal and collaborative capabilities.
Duties
- Develop, maintain, and update detailed Primavera project schedules for USACE Civil Works projects.
- Prepare reports on schedule status, resource utilization, and project progress for management review.
- Build schedule templates and resource-loaded schedules for Construction (CG) and General Investigations (GI) projects.
- Gather schedule data from Senior Project Managers and Project Managers and accurately load activities, durations, logic ties, and resources.
- Analyze schedule performance, identify variances, and communicate impacts to project leadership.
- Utilize program dashboards and reporting tools to transfer schedule updates for USACE review.
- Track Current Working Estimates (CWEs) and document changes to project cost and schedule on both project-level and programmatic scales.
- Prepare and maintain Programmatic Cost Estimates, including escalation, contingency, and cost-to-complete assessments.
- Compile and organize documentation required for reprogramming actions and Congressional notifications.
- Review funding requests and provide regular schedule and cost status updates to USACE stakeholders.
- Monitor project financials, including commitments, obligations, and expenditures, using data provided by Project and Program Managers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, financial, and planning teams to ensure schedule alignment with program priorities and milestones.
- Communicate schedule risks, opportunities, and corrective recommendations clearly and proactively.
- Prepare reports on schedule status, resource utilization, and project progress for management review.
Skills
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 and strong understanding of schedule development, resource loading, and critical path analysis.
- Experience supporting USACE Civil Works or similar large-scale infrastructure programs.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex scheduling and cost information into clear, actionable insights.
- Working knowledge of programmatic cost tracking, including CWEs, contingencies, and budget documentation.
- Familiarity with federal or public-sector project management systems (e.g., USACE P-2) and dashboard-based reporting workflows.
- Ability to analyze schedule and cost data to identify trends, risks, and impacts to programmatic performance.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail in document preparation and data entry.
- Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders and manage evolving inputs and deadlines.
- Understanding of financial tracking processes (commitments, obligations, expenditures) for multi-funded projects.
- Proficiency in ERP, data management, or project controls systems supporting scheduling and cost activities.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining consistent, proactive communication with project teams.
- Prior experience working with USACE Districts is desired.
