Job Title: Federal Litigation Law Clerk (Licensed Attorney) – DOJ Contract
Location: Macon, GA (On-site)
Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 per year
Job Type: Full Time, On Location
We are seeking a Federal Litigation Law Clerk (Licensed Attorney) to support Assistant U.S. Attorneys (AUSAs) within the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Georgia.
This role offers hands-on experience in federal criminal and civil litigation, with direct exposure to high-level government legal work. This is an exceptional opportunity for early-career attorneys to gain DOJ-level experience and accelerate their legal careers.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and review legal memoranda, motions, briefs, and proposed court orders
- Conduct advanced legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and federal databases
- Provide direct litigation support to Assistant U.S. Attorneys (AUSAs)
- Assist with case preparation, discovery, and trial support
- Track case filings, deadlines, and procedural requirements
- Prepare case law summaries and legal analyses
- Support both criminal and civil federal litigation matters
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. state (required)
- Minimum 1 year of post-JD legal experience
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Familiarity with federal court procedures preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal research platforms
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Ability to pass a federal background investigation
- Direct DOJ Exposure:Work alongside Assistant U.S. Attorneys on real federal cases
- Hands-On Litigation:Contribute to active criminal and civil matters
