Duties
- Perform comprehensive repairs and maintenance on a variety of vehicles, heavy equipment, generators, and power tools using schematics and technical manuals.
- Diagnose mechanical issues related to diesel engines, electrical systems, and hydraulic components, utilizing your knowledge of automotive repair and schematics.
- Conduct welding, soldering, electrical troubleshooting, and heavy lifting tasks to restore equipment to optimal working condition.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic instruments to complete repairs efficiently and accurately.
- Manage rental inventory by processing customer transactions, explaining rental terms, inspecting returned equipment for damages, and maintaining detailed records.
- Assist customers with selecting the right equipment or vehicle for their needs while providing excellent customer service and sales support.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed during all repair activities and rental operations to maintain a secure work environment.
Skills
- Proven dealership experience or extensive service technician background in automotive or equipment repair.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in diesel engine repair, generator maintenance, and heavy equipment servicing.
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting electrical systems and complex machinery.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and other mechanical repair tools.
- Experience working with Caterpillar machinery or similar heavy-duty brands is a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with sales ability to assist clients effectively.
- Physical strength for heavy lifting tasks along with the ability to work in various environmental conditions safely.
