Environmental Consulting & Technology, Inc. (ECT) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Wetland Scientist to support our Michigan Region. This role will assist project managers in executing a range of environmentally focused projects involving wetlands, threatened and endangered species, and water resource permitting. - Conduct fieldwork, planning, and technical support for wetland delineations, natural resource inventories, permit compliance, regulatory documentation, and related environmental surveys.
- Assist project managers with tasks related to environmental assessments, reporting, and data analysis.
- Coordinate project schedules, manage field staff logistics, and ensure timely delivery of project milestones within budget constraints.
- Contribute to proposal writing and business development efforts in collaboration with the project team.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and regional environmental regulations and build relationships with regulatory agencies.
- Participate in internal training, peer review processes, and team mentoring activities.
- Manage multiple projects and shifting priorities while maintaining high-quality deliverables.
- Work independently and collaboratively to problem-solve and support new project initiatives.
- Promote a culture of safety and professionalism both in the office and during field activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Ecology, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of relevant professional experience in wetland delineation, botanical and wildlife surveys, or environmental permitting.
- Strong technical writing skills with experience conducting QA/QC of reports and datasets.
- Previous consulting experience and experience with renewable energy projects are highly desirable.
- Familiarity with state and federal environmental permitting processes is preferred.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Self-motivated with sound professional judgment and the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficient in time management and adapting to evolving project needs.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Willingness to travel, including overnight, for fieldwork and project support as needed.
- Primary work may be performed in an office or remote setting, with occasional fieldwork required.
