Position SummaryEnvironmental Compliance Solutions (ECS) is seeking motivated, safety-focused Field Service Technicians to support emissions control and production equipment throughout the Permian Basin. Technicians will perform inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, startups, commissioning, and compliance-related services on flares, combustors, VRUs, compressors, and associated oil & gas equipment.
This position requires frequent travel throughout West Texas and the ability to work independently in demanding field environments.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on:
- Vapor Combustor Units (VCUs)
- Production Flares
- Vapor Recovery Units (VRUs)
- Air Compressors
- Knockout Vessels
- Ignition Systems & Control Panels - BMS
- Flame Arrestors
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and instrumentation issues.
- Conduct emergency service callouts and repairs.
- Complete equipment startups, commissioning, training and performance testing.
- Perform Method 22 observations and reporting.
- Assist with emissions compliance inspections.
- Field data collection.
- Support LDAR and regulatory compliance initiatives.
- Verify proper operation of emissions control equipment.
- Complete service reports, inspection forms, and work orders.
- Document findings with photographs and detailed notes.
- Communicate equipment deficiencies and recommended corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records.
- Follow all company and customer safety requirements.
- Participate in Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).
- Maintain safe work practices around production facilities and compressor stations.
- Properly utilize required PPE.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
- Ability to pass drug screening and background check.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Willingness to travel throughout West Texas and the Permian Basin.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Oil & Gas industry experience.
- Experience with flares, combustors, VRUs, compressors, or production equipment.
- Knowledge of instrumentation and controls.
- Electrical troubleshooting experience (12VDC, 24VDC, 120VAC, 480VAC).
- PLC or HMI experience.
- Method 22 experience.
- Compressor station experience.
- Safeland / PEC
- H₂S Clear
- First Aid / CPR
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
- Forklift Certification
- Manlift Certification
- Confined Space Awareness
- Lockout / Tagout Training
