Overview
Key responsibilities include:
- Supports head coach
- Perform administrative duties as assigned by head coach
- Work effectively with students of differing ages, abilities, and backgrounds
- Share responsibility with head coach for assembling their volunteer coaching staff
- Attends all practices and all games
- Report progress of basketball program to head coach
- Collaborate with head coach to organize and supervise a total sports program
- Manage all on site documentation and injury reports
- Assign and collect uniforms.
- Position is from November 1, 2026 - February 28, 2027
- Pre-season practices start first full week of November
- 2 practices per week in November, pre-season
- Coach 2 hours per practice with pre and post responsibilities
- Requires 90 minute practice for athletes
- 1-2 games, 2 practices per week during the season
- Practice cancellations would require approval by the Athletic Director
- Assist A.D. in hosting end of season banquet
- Partner with Boosters as directed by A.D.
- Attend coaches meetings as directed by A.D.
- Complete end of season program evaluation and discuss program.
- Assist with fundraising
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Coaching experience in basketball preferred
- Coaching experience in organized community sports considered
- Sport First Aid and CPR Certification preferred
- Strong oral and written communication skills are required
