POSITION SUMMARY:

The Service Associate member maintains environmental and infection control standards within established policies and procedures of the specified job site. The position performs a variety of general cleaning tasks to maintain the cleanliness of the various hospital wings offices, hallways, and trailers. The position follows standard practices and procedures and complies with regulatory requirements.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Dusts furniture, woodwork and equipment and dust-mops floors.
  • Polishes and cleans fixtures in rooms and bathrooms.
  • Wet-mops and scrubs floors within the rooms, halls and other areas as assigned
  • Cleans vents, fan fixtures, top of windows, doorframes and other high areas using a ladder.
  • Gathers and disposes of trash and waste materials using specified bags or containers.
  • Moves furniture and other heavy objects as required.
  • Performs terminal and discharge cleaning procedures of patient rooms and prepares rooms for new occupants; follows isolation procedures in isolation rooms.
  • Performs general cleaning and sterilization for prescribed areas within the hospital, or job site assigned
  • Cleans and disinfects all fixtures, floors, mirrors, windows, doors and walls of bathrooms.
  • Keeps work areas neat and orderly.
  • Assists with evacuations, when needed.
  • May clean contact rooms which requires PPE Equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This position is a part of the contingent staffing program and is classified as a temporary part-time hourly position with the potential for temporary full-time. Therefore, requires availability to work days, evenings and nights, working Monday through Friday, some Saturdays and Sundays—which is dictated by the needs of the job site and specific project assigned to.

TRAVEL

This position does require that the applicant have reliable transportation to the site

  • Adhere to dress code, appearance is neat and clean.
  • Maintain patient and customer confidentiality at all times.
  • Report to work on time as scheduled.
  • Wear identification while on duty.
  • Maintain regulatory requirements, including all state, federal and local regulations.
  • Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner at all times.
  • Comply with all organizational policies and standards regarding ethical business practices.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Uses independent judgment to apply the guidelines to specific situations
  • Good working knowledge of English, grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  • Ability to speak in a clear and understandable manner and write legibly.
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • One to three years of housekeeping experience preferred but not required
