What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sheetmetal Helper - RTP position at Environmental Air Systems?
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assemble and install metal insulated panels and ductwork according to project requirements.
- Bend and wrap metal flashing around columns.
- Install corrugated metal roof decking.
- Interpret and understand technical blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Use blueprints as a guide for component fabrication and assembly.
- Communicate any discrepancies or issues with blueprints to the team lead.
- Ensure precise measurements and alignment of metal siding, ducts, and roofing.
- Collaborate with team members across multiple trades to create visually appealing and functional wall structures.
- Understand all aspects of HVAC installation.
- Work different areas with 4-5 people in each group.
- Lay-out duct for installation and look ahead to keep work going smoothly.
- Follow all EAS safety policies and regulations.
- Spot and correct unsafe situations.
- Sketch fitting for duct connections. Knowledge of signals for rigging, and setting HVAC equipment with cranes, boom trucks, lulls, and forklifts.
- Knowledge of Welding and fabrication of supports for equipment.
- Knowledge of Air flow of systems: Supply, Return, & Exhaust.
- Ensure HVAC inline Mechanical Devices are installed according to Manufactures Instructions.
- Read duct work drawings & Architectural drawings to locate rooms, ceiling elevations, columns.
- Minimum of a high school education or equivalent.
- This Position requires a minimum of five (5) years of Sheet Metal experience.
- Requires working in conditions of varying heat and cold and where noise levels are at or above 90 decibels.
- Courses in construction safety are a requirement.
- Be able to continue job if Superintendent is not available
