What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pipefitter - Construction position at Environmental Air Systems?
Responsibilities:
- Install industrial piping systems: chill water, hot water, steam, condensate, and condensed water
- Read blueprints and submittals
- Fabricate pipe supports and spool copper lines
- Work independently and problem solve
- Repair, cap, and test all types of plumbing piping
- Instruct plumbing helpers under your supervision
- Practice all safety procedures
- Hold license to operate equipment necessary for the role
- Minimum of a high school education or equivalent
- Rigging knowledge preferred
- 5 years pipefitter experience preferred
- Knowledge of pipefitter equipment, power tools, and fabrication methods
- Knowledge of different types of pipe, valves, fittings, and their functions
- General knowledge of code requirements and limitations
- Knowledge of occupational hazards, including ladders
- Ownership of pipefitter hand tools
- Ability to work independently and on a team
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand and work for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to work in conditions of varying heat and cold where noise levels are at or above 90 decibels
