LOCATION: Remote (Florida-based). Approximately 20–30% travel to project sites

JOB SUMMARY: The Commissioning Provider II – Southeast Regional Lead is responsible for delivering high-quality commissioning services for new building projects by ensuring that mechanical, electrical, and control systems are designed, installed, and operating in alignment with project and owner requirements and industry standards. This role will focus on new construction commissioning (NCCx) while supporting Envinity’s full commissioning service line. 

 

This position performs advanced technical work, including design document review, development of commissioning plans, site inspections, functional performance testing, and detailed documentation and analysis of results. The CxP II demonstrates independence in project management and execution, mentors junior staff, and coordinates directly with contractors, design teams, and owners, and provides clear technical recommendations to resolve issues. 

 

The key business development responsibilities of this role include developing relationships and coordinating with owners and key partners, project management providers, architects, engineers, and prime contractors.


The Southeast Regional Lead collaborates closely with Envinity’s Account Managers to identify and secure new projects with existing partners, ensuring continued growth in the region. In addition, the role supports expansion into new markets by cultivating relationships with prospective clients and partners, in coordination with Envinity’s Business Development and Marketing team. 

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Manage new construction commissioning (NCCx) projects to ensure delivery meets scope, schedule, quality standards and client expectations. 

  • Conduct technical and thoughtful design reviews to ensure alignment with Owner’s project requirements; identify risks and opportunities for improvement and highlight Envinity’s expertise in high-performance building solutions as applicable.  
  • Develop commissioning plans for construction projects, outlining the scope, objectives, and timelines in collaboration with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders.  
  • Oversee the implementation of commissioning plans, including checklist creation, verification, and functional performance testing of building systems and components, and ensure compliance with industry standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements and Envinity quality criteria. 
  • Coordinate commissioning activities with various stakeholders, including contractors, architects, engineers, and facility managers, to ensure seamless integration with construction schedules, and collaboratively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues that arise during the commissioning process.

  • Allocate resources efficiently, including personnel, equipment, and budget, to ensure the successful execution of commissioning activities across multiple projects. 
  • Ensure accurate documentation of commissioning processes, procedures, test results, and final reports for future reference and compliance, and timely delivery of commissioning reports, manuals, and other project deliverables to clients. 
  • Identify training needs for team members and organize professional development programs to enhance their skills and knowledge. 
  • Maintain strong client relationships by understanding client needs, addressing concerns, and sustaining effective communications throughout the commissioning process and beyond. 
  • Provide post-occupancy support to clients and address any commissioning-related issues that may arise after the project’s completion. 


Execute Existing Building Commissioning (RCx) tasks to achieve energy savings, maintain performance, and minimize operational issues 

  • Manage internal and external resource needs across multiple projects, including developing overall project plans and schedules, maintaining accountability for schedule, status, and financial reporting, leading and planning team meetings, and providing progress reports to internal teams and clients at established intervals 
  • Schedule and conduct client site visits to document, prioritize, and track building issues and improvement opportunities, while building effective working relationships with client maintenance staff to support issue resolution. 
  • Develop and perform field testing and utilize fault detection and data analysis tools to diagnose root causes and guide corrective actions. 
  • Develop how‑to task orders and guidance documentation for changes to controls and mechanical equipment and educate maintenance staff to support proper implementation and ongoing operation. 
  • Ensure all changes comply with quality and performance requirements and applicable codes and standards. 

 

Support the Business Development team in developing new NCCx business in the Southeast Region 

  • Draft fee estimates and proposals for new construction commissioning services including direct-to-owner and public RFP responses. 
  • Nurture relationships with owners and key partners, including project management providers, architects, engineers, and prime contractors to identify and win new work. 
  • Participate in business development activities such as conferences and owner introductory meetings facilitated by Envinity’s Business Development and Marketing team. 
  • Prepare content for speaking engagements, educational sessions, and promotional activities, and assist with related event promotional efforts as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • >5 years experience 
  • Degree in mechanical, electrical, civil, energy or architectural engineering, building automation engineering technology or related field, or equivalent experience 
  • Willingness to work on-site several days a month (including overnight travel). Site work ranges from 20-30% of work time. 
  • Experience in project management 
  • Experience in proposal writing and fee estimation 
  • Excellent organization and time management skills 
  • Self-directed with a strong and professional work ethic 
  • PE license or Commissioning certification(s) preferred 

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  

  • Strong background in construction, engineering, and managing construction projects with an understanding of the entire project lifecycle and dealing with various construction disciplines. 
  • Experience with commissioning processes, best practices, and industry standards.  
  • Familiar with commissioning plans, creating testing and verification procedures, and ensuring that all building systems and components operate efficiently and as designed. 
  • Ability to build trust with partners and possess the confidence to ask for the next business opportunity 
  • Familiarity with codes and standards such as the International Code Council, ASHRAE and NFPA 
  • Proficient with software systems including construction, project management, and digital documentation tools. 
  • Experience working with Building Automation Systems 
  • Ability to work with subcontractors, facility maintenance staff and management 
  • Analyze complex technical systems, interpret applicable codes and standards, and exercise independent engineering judgment. 
  • Maintain sustained visual focus to review technical documents and perform computer‑based work. 
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including leading meetings, mentoring team members, and preparing reports and technical documentation using digital tools. 
  • Ability to perform physical activities that require use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as walking, stooping, ladder climbing, lifting equipment under 40 lbs, and use of data collection tools (e.g. flow hood)
