What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Custodian position at Enumclaw School District?
Under direction of the building principal, to inspect and coordinate custodial activities in cleaning school and administrative buildings, and to do other work as required and will assume supervisory responsibility of the building custodians. Train and instruct custodial personnel in the performance of their duties per Enumclaw School District Custodial Procedure Manual, will be provided. Pre-employment physical screen will be required.
REPRESENTATIVE JOB DUTIES:
Basic computer and e-mail skills required for all Head and Lead positions.
Support the school by providing leadership support and direction for the entire custodial staff.
Communicate daily and provide direction, feedback, and guidance with the custodial team that will enable the crew to perform their job requirements as directed.
Collaborate with the custodial crew, helping to build team unity and culture.
Communicate and maintain good working relations with all district employees, vendors, contractors, and public entities.
Review and coordinate with school principal, the work of the custodial personnel.
Check that each custodian has an approved work schedule.
Train and instruct custodial personnel in the performance of their duties per Enumclaw School District's Custodial Procedure Manual.
Inspect and suggest work improvement as to the cleaning of rooms, restrooms, halls, fixtures and equipment requiring activities, such as sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, polishing, dusting, waxing, disinfecting and related duties.
Perform light maintenance and make minor repairs to buildings and furnishings. Clean designated areas according to building custodial work load plan.
Confer and cooperate with building principal regarding use of the school plant for meetings or other similar activities. Schedule building operation times. 7. Inspect buildings and report dangerous, unsightly or unsanitary conditions and see that such conditions are corrected.
Order maintenance supplies and contract services as needed.
Perform heavy manual tasks, including lifting and carrying 50 pounds on a regular basis and 75-80 pounds occasionally.
Assist with building safety plans and security systems. Back-up/on call for security systems and respond to building intrusion/fire alarms.

LEADERSHIP QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrated proficiency in problem solving and leadership. Excellent communication skills. Proven ability to take the initiative.
Pay: $ $34.67 per hour
